About

The Idea

AskRon aims to close the gap between large online recommendation portals, random travel-blog entries, and oldschool tourist guides. We provide authentic, reliable, quick, specific, local, and free travel-advice for Hamburg/Germany - Designed for mobile usage and quick responses. We believe in community spirit among travelers. We believe in helping fellow travelers out. Stop researching - Start exploring.

Traveling has changed. We no longer want mere sightseeing. We want a travel-experience. We want to find the great little places, that make a city unique. We want our experience to be authentic.

When you're on a trip, how many times do you wish you knew someone who lives in the city you are exploring? Just so you can ask a quick and simple question?

Questions like: "Where do I have the best view of the harbor?" What neighborhood is worth visiting if I like vintage stores and hip cafés? And what subway stop should I get off? Where do local students go on a Thursday night?" "Can I rent a bike to navigate the city?" "Should I really book a hostel in Wilhelmsburg?"

And let's face it: If you try to find an answer to any of these questions on your phone while you are on the go, you tend to waste plenty of precious travel-time. Because what does anyone do when they try to find information? They google. Soon enough, you will find yourself being lured in by local business that are really good at SEO or browsing through long lists of online reviews on traveling sites (that have been written by fellow travelers). None of these solutions actually answer your specific question. They lack authenticity.

Locals, however, would be willing and able to answer these questions in the blink of an eye. AskRon provides the platform to bridge the gap. You can send your question to a dedicated group of Hamburg-lovers via e-mail.
